Brick opening sequence

The conventions that were included in the opening sequence to brick were that there was a dead body, old music and an enigma.
The types of camera shots were close ups on the bracelet, feet and facial expression, scene transitions included a fade and dissolve transition. Slow cuts and reverse shots were part of the editing included.
The Mise-en-scene to the scene included, cold blues, a murky gutter. There was also a school setting included. The same lighting and atmosphere was present throughout the opening sequence.
The sound included came from old music, there was no dialogue, the sound was non-diagetic - the scene finalises with a bell sounding.
